VMSD Magazine names Dusan Motolik of Avila Design as one of the Inaugural Designer Dozen Winners
Yesterday, Dusan Motolik was named one of the Designer Dozen who will be receiving his award on March 1st at the Designer Dozen Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas. In addition, the winners will be featured in the March 2012 Issue of Visual Merchandising and Store Design Magazine. This award is given to celebrate the best and brightest young retail designers. As a member of this elite group, he is recognized for his talent, drive and innovation to move the industry forward in addition to his recognition as one of the up-and-coming talents that is introducing new strategies and concepts and impacting the shopping experience in the 21st century.
Mr. Motolik’s enthusiasm for architecture and design is evident in all of this work. He is a smart and throughtful designer who approaches his work with serious determination. Internationally trained, Dusan is a highly skilled designer with a passion for his work that is grounded in the technical aspects of constructability.
Dusan is currently working on the site wide improvements and restoration/addition of the historic Oakville Grocery in the Napa Valley. Other projects include renovations to the St. Helena and Washington, DC Dean & Deluca stores and the expansion and tenant improvements of the Pacheco Plaza Shopping Center in Novato, CA. His other projects in various phases of development include, expansion studies for the Temescal Plaza Shopping Center in Oakland, CA, a new retail development along the upper Broadway Corridor also in Oakland and leasing/building improvements to the Bay Street Shopping Center in Emeryville, CA.
Dusan’s previous projects include the Lakeshore Avenue top dog restaurant in Oakland, the recently opened College Creek Marketplace at Humboldt State University, Sephora and Ann Taylor Taylor store tenant improvements nationwide, Cotton On store rollouts and ROSS Stores’ fixturing/department planning.
