If our goal in this competition was to create a beautful new t-shirt to add to our existing collection, then we have most definitely failed. Out of the 138 entries that we received our team of 8 editors have narrowed down the surprisingly bad submissions into a group of 8 finalists (we were planning on 5 but there were some ties).... so go ahead and vote for your favorite. It's kind of like the last presidential election but with less tragic results.

whoa. maybe we all needed more time?
those finalists suck. Why not let us see all 138?
actually the cover image forthis competition killed it. the graphics were so disturbingly bad that it made it hard to get inspired...maybe a better cover page next time (i would intentionally refresh to get to another one each time it came up).....
i like the competition invitation shirt best.
because these are seriously the best of the 138, so it would be a waste of time to prepare and upload all of the entries just so everyone can look at them. most people did not follow the rules. some submissions were actually just advertisements for small architecture firms. here are a few examples of some other submissions to give you a taste...
i think we've found all the william hung's of the graphic design world.
wow. those are horrible. :(
LOL those really are horrible, I'm with Steven, the invite shirt was better...
or that last one with the red scaley sex...
We did particularly enjoy the Architects Do It All Nighter with the Dinosaur fucking the plane. Bravo.
That last one is kind of funny though. Not that it is even appropriate or related to the Per Corell phenom.
yeah, if the "architects do it all nighter" would've read "hi all you fancy graphics lovers" then i think we would have a winner by default.
shit. i could've been a contender..
can we have the fucking t-rex shirt, and just change the text to hi all you fancy graphics lovers? please???
Entertain me with more losers!!!
mm... I don't get it, most of the designs have nothing to do with 3dH at all -apart of being pretty boring-...
why don't you send the 138 entries to Per, and let him decide what are the 10 or 20 entries that really have something to do with the "real" 3dH method, and then from these ones, we, the Romans, choose the best one? ... if there has to be a judge on 3dHology here, Per is the man..
and, just to let it be known, i also think that the invite shirt was RAD. i was under the impression that they could only get better. still, i say put the dino and the invite shirt in the mix for voting please.
actually, i'm talking about the purple/green/black 3dh that was on the homepage... awesome...
138, that's really not alot of entries for a 1000 post thread. just take a few minutes and get them up, we know archinector employees don't have anything better to do.
here's a few more that didn't make the cut.
that's all i'm posting.
Indeed, put down your air hockey pucks for a moment and post the entires please.
What about the picture of Per Corell in front of his boats for the t-shirt?
well done everyone!
yes paul. no more please.
I saw some of the others...none were relevant to the awesomeness that is 3D-H.
graphic design sucks
yes there were some ties alright...for 0's!
wait wait wait, here's a really good one...
Interesting to note that when we hold our own design competition, for a measley t-shirt, not only do we underperform, but we rip each other to shreds. I guess once you go opinionated, you can't go back....bodes poorly for whoever I will live with eventually.
And I use "we" loosely, I never sent one in. Darn.
studio lives.
heh.
hah! javier you like that don`t you? i LOVED that. *sniff*
and congratulations to the finalists.
chameleon: it's very...druid.
is that a compliment?
in a way, yes. would i wear druid? no.
and by the way chameleon, it's GraphicS Lovers.
i wouldn't even dress my dog up with the 8 finalist that where picked!!!!!
all of them but the (corb) one are complete tripe.
hey, did you let per in on the judging panel? seems appropriate.
what does the corb one have to do with fancy graphics lovers / per / 3dh / or whatever else is on that oozing thread? did i miss something?
the corb one might have little snippet of that discussion thread. but at least it has some wit and humor about it. as opposed to the rest of that garbage....
ummm, how do I vote? Is it by rating up the one I like and rating down the rest, or is it just based on total number of people voting?
Sorry, I'm confused...not fancy enough to understand this process!
liberty - to vote just click the "view and vote" link at the top of the page and give each 8 shirts a vote out of 5. the shirt with the highest average vote by midnight tonight wins.
WHOA!
i got THRASHED (as i laugh wholeheartedly)
my design is second (the text)- and i thought this competition was for fun, not for lashing the way most of you guys have. it was just a throw out in hope of getting a couple laughs from some of the quotes i put on in opposition to the usual "architectural" look of archi-tshirts.
geez....
The last one in Paul Petrunia's first post is a couple of "graphics lovers", I think... (get it?)... or, maybe you could say it's a couple of lovers being graphic?
This competition seems to have been taken too seriously by the comments being put forth. I tried to submit mine in the gallery and I guess it was denied. What is that trying to prove? I thought this site was for voicing opinions and expressing our work...
there was a deadline for submissions a while back, and the ones in the gallery were picked as finalists from the submissions... that's why your submission probably wasn't accepted... nobody's trying to censor you.
read ^^ up there for more info on the submission process.
pencrush...
I submitted my design the week is was ORGINALLY DUE. So please do not give me crap about when the deadline was...
I'm talking about placing the submission in the gallery for all my fellow peers to view as a visual stimuli. And that was denied, that's the censorship I'm talking about...
Please ask before assuming anything in the future...
I can't speak for the editors of the site, so I don't know why they would reject it, but I would assume it was because they made the gallery for voting on the finalists. If you tried to submit it to the "regular" image gallery, perhaps they misunderstood your intentions.
You could host your image at a free image hosting site like http://www.imageshack.us and post it in the discussion forum if you really wanted people to see it.
I apologize for assuming you misunderstood the submission deadline. I wasn't try to "give you crap."
since the voting is now over, i'm assuming we have a winner. did anybody see which one got the highest ratings? i'm just curious to know which shirt i will be buying. thanks.
I think "ronchamp" is the winner, but there has been no official notice, that I've seen.
