munkenbeck sued design+
it was either a year ago or back in december. regardless, it was at least 6 months ago, and gram's website says munkenbeck was canned in february 2004.
this is the word on the street:
contractors i know who bid on the project (but didn't win, so that might say something) seemed to think that the project was generally being mismanaged, even from the beginning, and didn't think the news was too much a suprise.
munkenbeck and design+ was never destined to be a match made in heaven...the fact that a number of members on gram's board are on design+'s list of former clients politically wasn't going to bode well to any disasterous partnership.

last year munkenbeck & marshall sued the architect of record, grand rapids-based design+.
there's a story not reported that's a whole lot juicier, but the grand rapids legal news only prints who sues who.
