The new school year at Cranbrook Academy of Art Department of Architecture, an Archinect Partner School, has just begun. To coincide with it, we’re highlighting the must-see events and lectures to take in for the Fall 2024 semester.
Public programming begins with the special "Communion" fundraiser on September 28th at the new Peterson Rich Office-designed The Shepherd Gallery and Art Center in Detroit's Little Village neighborhood. (Tickets for the event can be purchased here.)
In the following month, be sure not to miss an exciting slate of lectures that begins on October 3rd with a visit from conceptual artist and writer Charisse Weston. Following hers is another from Berlin-based architect Axel Timm on November 7th. Photographer Leonard Suryajaya speaks on November 21st, and the semester concludes with a final lecture on furniture design from the contemporary guru Jomo Tariku on December 5th.
The last event to note is the Fall Graduate Open House on November 9th for prospective MFA and MArch students. (The in-person event is for prospective graduate school students only.)
Be sure to follow our Get Lectured series for more events hosted by architecture schools. If your school is hosting a lecture, open house, or other exciting event, you can submit it directly here.
