Construction on the forthcoming Obama Presidential Center’s main museum building has topped out in Chicago. A ceremony held yesterday, June 11th, with the 44th President in attendance celebrated the progress on the TWBTA-led project as it reached its culmination at 225 feet height just two years before its expected completion in the spring of 2026.
Once it is completed, the new landmark of the city’s South Side will anchor a 19.3-acre campus with a landscape design from Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. Another key component, Moody Nolan’s athletics center building, is also advancing towards a 2026 completion after breaking ground in March.
