Archinect's recurring Get Lectured series features a showcase of each architecture school's lectures along with eye-catching event posters. This week, our look at the events taking place this Fall semester continues with the public programming on tap at The Cooper Union’s Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture in New York City.
The packed slate began Tuesday, September 12, with a lecture from Class of 1998 alumni Anthony Titus and will continue Wednesday, September 26, with a book discussion featuring Designing the Forest and other Mass Timber Futures author Lindsey Wikstrom. Shannon Mattern will visit campus for a lecture on Arboreal Media on October 10, followed by a lecture from Harvard’s Andrew Witt on October 24 and an October 25 book discussion featuring author Peter Trummer.
The month continues on October 31 with Catie Newell’s Fariba Tehrani Lecture on architecture and loss. Mario Carpo comes to campus for a book discussion on November 9, preceding another from MODU founders Phu Hoang and Rachely Rotem on November 14. Dream the Combine's Tom Carruthers and Jennifer Newsom will deliver a lecture on November 14. The semester ends with a discussion of author Sue Ferguson Gussow's title Architects Draw: Freehand Fundamentals.
