Continuing with Archinect's Get Lectured series, we highlight Harvard University's Graduate School of Design (GSD) list of guest lecturers and presenters for their Spring 2023 public programs.
The lectures kick off Tuesday, January 31, with a visit from Landprocess founder Kotchakorn Voraakhom. Her lecture will be followed on February 2 by Yung Ho Chang’s presentation titled ‘Form, Content, and Total Design.’ February 7 will bring architect Stan Allen to campus, followed by a lecture on February 9 from Ecuadorian architect Ana María Durán Calisto. The month will conclude with Adèle Naudé Santos’ presentation ‘Narrative Maps: A Design Process’ on February 14, and a visit from North Carolina State University professor Kofi Boone on February 16.
March’s programming will begin with the lecture ‘Grand Paris Express: Reconfiguring the City through Radical Infrastructure’ taking place over two days from March 2-3. It will be followed by the International Womxn’s Week Keynote Address (whose theme this year is Intersectional Spaces of Care) on March 9. Belgian designer Bas Smets will visit campus on March 23 to speak about what he calls ‘Biospheric Urbanism’, and the month will conclude on March 28 with a lecture from Andrew Bernheimer on the topic of affordable housing in New York City.
The next month will include lectures from Department Chair Mark Lee on April 9 and Rachel Meltzer on April 11. Mexico City-based artist Abraham Cruzvillegas will deliver the Rouse Visiting Artist Lecture on April 13, followed by Nigerian architect Tosin Oshinowo’s lecture ‘Aṣẹ: Intentional Contextuality and Adaptability in Design’ on April 18. Finally, the semester will conclude with the symposium Mayors Imagining the Just City: Volume 3 on April 21.
