Unity Temple: Frank Lloyd Wright's Modern Masterpiece is a new film by Lauren Levine that is narrated by Brad Pitt. Streaming October 30th to November 15th, the documentary will look deeply into Wright's first public commission in the early 1900s and the efforts to restore it 100 years later.
From the film website: The dedicated team of historians, craftspeople, members of the Unitarian congregation and Unity Temple Restoration Foundation reveal the history of one of Wright’s most innovative buildings that merged his love of architecture with his own spiritual values.

How did I not see this for an entire week?! Definitely going to watch it; can’t guarantee that I will be wearing underwear by the time it’s over.

FLW was a better, and earlier, Brutalist than the Brutalists? I am a big FLW fan and it may be fantastic on the inside but from the outside it looks like one of those places that house banks and banks of computer servers and everyone runs around with color-coded identification badges and cameras track their every move. Than goodness he didn't go too far down this lane in his career.
It could not have achieved the affect it has or its purpose without the contrast of the outside with that inside. I see the mystery in the building and how it opens itself to one's soul through the light entering the space. The sequence of arrival from the outside into the inside provides time for that transformation from the life outside to that life inside. It is one of the most moving emotional experiences in a building that I have ever felt. It encompasses all of the elements in Wright's work, providing refuge & prospect, mystery, light and delight.
