In Brazilian photographer Cássio Vasconcellos' series entitled Collectives, the artist "instigates a visual debate on the urban chaos of modern civilization by exploring jam-packed situations typical of our society," writes Art Historian and Critic Cynthia Garcia. Some of those scenarios include crowded beaches, cluttered parking lots, congested highways, and even "aircraft boneyards."
Vasconcellos used hundreds of photos to create the final product, resulting in a fantastical reimagining of the urban landscapes of our modern age. Content Producer Micaela Neiva said of the collection: "The series...reveals a contemporary look of life stories from a globalized world seen through mosaics of constructed images."

I like these.
Sometimes I google satellite for hours, usually when I can't sleep. My biggest achievement is having done the entire Meditterannean Sea shores sometimes going inland here and there. The stuff you see is "fantastical" and informative about architecture and urban design, patterns of development, you name it. I do a lot of cities too.
Did the "Constellations" work(s) come before or after this practice?
During. It was a great tool to connect and make up the stories. That’s a great question though.
i love this kind of work.
Are those street/freeway photos for real?
If so: what a shocking display of the madness we have come to, in our car culture! There's nothing like that on the west coast of Canada, thankfully. Yet...
That would surely cause my GPS device to melt down. "Yer on your own, Buddy!"
It's art... not pictures of real places.
^ True, though "Coletivo 2 - Detail" does bring to mind the Universal Amphitheater parking lot in 1979 after an Elton John concert.
Nice!
For all you fancy landscape lovers, a Dutch polder, no photoshop:
A tip from NASA these artificial fills around China's Hainan Island. There are some ZHA looking buildings on the first one. There are tons of ZHA looking buildings in Chinese resort areas. There are more there I didn't post. Stop beating up Dubai...
