Facebook is a zombie company that makes nothing of social or physical value. NYC is only sealing its status as second class city that begs amazon and Facebook to save it instead of building new industries and districts from the ground up--while FB gobbles up workers and cultural value, gets tax breaks, and protects itself from being broken up by extending more zombie offices were workers stare at screens and do nothing.
They are a media company that derives almost its entire income from advertising. Not from selling services or products but advertising. It galls me to no end that some of the brightest minds in this generation are devoting their talents to selling online ads. At least Microsoft and Google sells tech products - though Google too relies on ads for revenues. Amazon is a weird one as outside AWS it is really a retailer. Same with Netflix - it is a traditional media company that uses a tech-enabled platform for distribution.
Where is the bleacher/stairway combination thingy? I thought IBC required every tech company office to have one. Other than that, it looks like the designers successfully provided all of the other tech office interior cliches.
Are those ETFE pillows?
I'm not seeing any hammocks, and not a single scooter. What kind of godforsaken sweatshop are they running there?!
could be an office for any other boring company out there. and what's with that motif on the floor?
It’s too bad NYC can’t reimagine penn station without these vulture tech companies watering down the design
