The Associated Contractors of America (AGC) has published its monthly review of the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data on construction industry employment, finding predictably that states with the strictest lockdown protocols have fared the worst with regards to construction job losses.
According to AGC's review, New York State saw the largest number of job losses overall (-166,000 jobs lost) while Vermont saw the steepest month-to-month drop by percentage (-46.3%). 49 out of 50 states lost construction jobs in April, with South Dakota gaining 500 new construction jobs.
