Based in Palm Springs and Los Angeles, Studio AR&D Architects strives to design projects that engage with the public in a meaningful, poetic way. Their Southern California-dominant portfolio spans from Palm Desert to the Hollywood Hills.
Founded by a University of Virginia professor and his three best students in 1976, VMDO Architects' work specializes in K-12, higher education, and athletics + community. The practice has over 70 employees in their Charlottesville, VA and Washington D.C. offices.
Louis Skidmore and Nathaniel Owings first formed SOM in 1936 in Chicago, then was later joined by John O. Merrill in 1939. And the rest was history. Still one of the largest architecture practices in the U.S., SOM has carried out their pioneering spirit throughout their 80-year history, from developing Architectural Engineering Systems, to building several of the world's tallest skyscrapers, to their multiple AIA Twenty-Five Year Awards.
With many of their projects located in their New York home base, DXA Studio focuses on authenticity, sustainability, and innovation in all their work. Established in 2011, DXA Studio continues to grow their portfolio with residential, commercial, institutional, and hospitality projects.
