From Oakland, California, Designing Justice + Designing Spaces is an architecture and real estate development non-profit whose work is dedicated to ending mass incarceration. Led by architect Deanna Van Buren, the firm proposes human-centered spaces that aim for reconciliation, healing, and equality.
Founded in 2006, H Architecture is a global practice that uses “the versatility of architecture to reconcile and integrate urban grids, landscape, ground, buildings and interiors”. Along with their principal founding partner Haeahn Architecture, H Architecture has built projects in Seoul, New York, and more.
John Friedman Alice Kimm Architects (JFAK) takes on any project that focuses on a meaningful design challenge to which an innovative solution can be applied, with careful attention to the project's unique context. The LA-based firm has collaborated with an ever-expanding list of artists, engineers, scientists, builders, and other specialists.
Founded in 1983, Michael W. Folonis Architects has worked on multi-residential buildings, mixed-use projects, the restoration of significant Modernist buildings, and more. To this day, Folonis guides all project phases, and approaches his work with “a generous spirit of inquiry, infusing each project with an awareness of environmental responsibility, context, theory, function, and the maximal use of form, materials, and natural light”.
Based in Gramercy in New York City, Clodagh Design is a multi-disciplinary practice founded by Irish-born designer Clodagh in 1989. The studio has designed major hospitality, commercial, and residential projects around the globe that combine leading-edge technology and innovative materials with ancient modalities like feng shui.
