Scotland will soon be meeting the equivalent of 100% of its electricity needs from clean energy sources.
That’s the prediction made in a new report published by member organisation Scottish Renewables, which suggests renewable energy is providing signficant benefits to almost every aspect of the nation’s economy and is supporting major growth in terms of innovation, jobs, communities, climate progress and the rural economy.

The United Kingdom's green energy revolution is continuing apace following record-setting sustainable energy generation initiatives that have nearly eliminated the use of coal-fired energy in the country.
According to the Scottish government, Scotland's recent move to double-down on wind generation has produced enough electricity to power over 1.8 million homes.

Note the weasel words "the equivalent of 100% of its electricity needs".
Beware the "100%" target they are claiming progress towards has been fiddled.
The cheat is that the "100%" is only an equivalent in energy terms, that includes exports of wind from Scotland to England but doesn't include the burning of fossil fuels in Scotland and in England to generate electricity that is consumed in Scotland at times of low wind so as to keep the lights on.
So in no way will 100% of the electricity consumed in Scotland be generated by renewable energy any time soon.
Sorry but they are pulling the wool over people's eyes to pretend they are doing better than they actually are.
So actually, if you want a plan that can get Scotland to 100% renewable energy then you have to visit this link.
