If you're already based in Los Angeles or San Francisco, or looking to relocate to either city for your next architecture job, last week's Employer of the Day featured firms all have active job openings in those cities that can help you kick off your employment search amid the hundreds of active listings on our job board.
Our latest recap starts with David Baker Architects, with offices in San Francisco, Oakland, and Birmingham, Alabama. As the firm says, their work “acts as an advocate for improved urban planning, where looking good only counts if it does good, too.” Their San Francisco office is hiring for an Architect or Architectural Designer (3-7 years experience) with an interest in multifamily housing design and sustainable design, excellent graphics and rendering skills, and proficiency with Revit.
Additionally, DBA's Inside Interior Studio is seeking a creative and collaborative Interior Architect/Designer with an interest in housing, hospitality, and social justice. This position—for a licensed architect or a designer—works closely with the Interiors Lead to manage interiors projects from acquisition through design and execution.
Based in Los Angeles, multi-disciplinary Warren Techentin Architecture (WTARCH) recognizes the interdependence of buildings within their expanded context and explores broader questions about their role in the life of the community. They're looking to immediately hire a well-rounded Project Designer (2-4 years experience) who will help with ongoing projects in the office in addition to leading specific, new projects. Excellent opportunity to work on projects of all sizes and scopes.
OPA (Ogrydziak Prillinger Architects) work is based on their close relationship to their clients and communities, “whose use of our spaces give life to the architecture. We see the design process as a joint exploration of expanding and choreographing what’s possible,” the firm describes. The San Francisco firm is seeking a self-motivated Project Manager to join their team. Qualities and skills for the position include “strong conceptual, graphic and design skills illustrated in a comprehensive portfolio”, and an “interest in construction detailing techniques for both simple and complex geometry”.
Located in Los Angeles with roots around the world, Studio Cadiz is hiring a Junior Designer/Project Management Assistant to join their growing Architecture & Interior Design Studio. “You will be working directly with the owner on a variety of residential and commercial projects located in Los Angeles. This is currently a contract position with opportunity to become full time and grow with the company.”
