Los Angeles is filled with members-only workspaces that are quickly becoming overcrowded and perhaps not filled with enough women. However, this past week the "women's - focused co-working and networking space" The Wing opened its first LA location. Located in West Hollywood off of Santa Monica Boulevard the 11,00 square foot location offers more than an open concept workspace.
Officially starting in New York, the members of The Wing have created a space where women can not only work but also thrive. Before we get to the heavily curated and designed interiors, the location offers a space for women to feel empowered, safe, and free to "create, connect, and generate opportunities." Other than the typical co-working space amenities, The Wing provides a locally sourced menu, ample work, and outdoor spaces and a pump room.
The interiors of the space are set to reflect Southern California's historic Hollywood glamour. Channeling a "retro Italian" feel the interiors are filled with hand blown-Italian glass pendant lamps, splashes of pastel-colored walls and furniture, as well as terrazzo detailing. The Wing's interior team collaborated with Chiara de Rege to see this female safe haven come to life.
If you're a female boss looking for a new space to connect and collaborate check out The Wing.
so this is the female version of startup offices with slides and ping pong tables? my wife visited a client in one of these and was freaked out. then again, most normal people are horrified by the wework design culture that amps up the open plan to 10000

That is without a doubt one of the worst interiors I have ever seen.
those 2 green velour chairs are just terrible. zombie jesus did not fake die and fake rise for this blasphemy.
It just seems oddly, sort-of girly for a space meant to empower women.

That plus this; Airspace
Some of them are too cold!
Exactly where in this space is any work performed? It looks like a bad hotel cafe.
Exactly. There's barely any space to spread out your computer and associated work materials. The acoustics don't look well thought out either. The place only looks like it would work as a venue for trust-funders to do social media on their phones, which I think might be the target audience.
I could see myself hanging out with David Lynch here.
