2018 will see a number of high-profile museums finish remodeling and expanding as well as new institutions open promising spaces to the art-hungry public.
The Art Newspaper rounded up a few exciting ticket items, including the Royal Academy of Arts transformation in London by David Chipperfield, the Institute for Contemporary Art in Richmond by Steven Holl, the Getty Villa in Los Angeles by Frederick Fisher and Partners, Lafayette Anticipations in Paris by OMA, and Kengo Kuma's V&A Dundee, among others.
The Spaces also just released its list of upcoming museum openings, featuring some additional projects such as the Guardian Art Center in Beijing by Büro Ole Scheeren, Herzog & de Meuron's Tai Kwun Center for Heritage & Arts in Hong Kong, the redesigned spaces for Fotografiska London by Fletcher Priest, and DS+R's Museum of Image & Sound at Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana, to name a few.
