It’s been a rocky few weeks for the American Institute of Architects. Shortly following the election of Donald Trump, AIA CEO Robert Ivy released a statement on behalf of the 89,000 members of the organization, stating, “The AIA and its 89,000 members are committed to working with President-elect Trump to address the issues our country faces, particularly strengthening the nation’s aging infrastructure.” However, not all 89,000 members of the AIA do, in fact, commit to working with the controversial President-elect. As a result, many took to Twitter and other social media platforms to voice their discontent with the hashtag #NotMyAIA, which we’ve collected here.
Now, Scott Frank, the AIA’s Senior Director of Media Relations, has resigned from his post in response to the controversy. Architect’s Newspaper reports that Scott resigned due to the “AIA’s severe mishandling of the situation” and “total lack of accountability”. We reached out via email to the AIA’s Senior Manager of Media Relations, Matthew Tinder, for more information.
“I can confirm Scott’s resignation, but the AIA does not comment on staff departures,” Tinder responded.

Lol. What a puss
Yeah. What a puss, having the gumption to act on his ethical code. He should have just manned up and towed the line, like all good plebes.
Thank you Sneaky.
I have known Scott for several years and he is whip-smart, engaged, and funny. I totally respect his decision on this: he's a professional *communicator*, and he just watched his clients (aka US, the AIA) make a stupid communication blunder.
We should all listen to our professionals: that is why we hire them.
Archpaper really milking controversies now: AIA, Schumacher, etc. Guess everyone is a traffic whore now... guess it's more BS in the future.
AIA is corrupt, Archpaper (and other arch media) sucks. Archinect is ok. Need to change the game
