This week, plunge yourself into the art world with opening shows, private views and controversial subjects all on offer in London. Works on display throughout the exhibitions seek to challenge the viewer, and in the case of Guerrilla Girls, bring about big, tangible change through art.
Additionally, this week is one of the last chances to visit the incredible Serpentine Pavilion by BIG, if you haven't already, ahead of its closure on the 9th October.
Check back regularly to keep up to date with London's latest happenings and our weekly recommendations!

David Bowie has been celebrated widely in London since his death at the beginning of this year. This exhibition remembers the star through photographs and accompanying stories from the photographers who knew and worked with him over the years. Including previously unseen prints, this exhibition seeks to showcase Bowie from his 1960s beginnings in Beckenham to his last live performance in 2003. Aptly held in Brixton, this exhibition coincides with Brixton Design Trail - not to be missed if you are in the area.
Guerrilla Girls: Is it even worse in Europe? | 1 October - 5 March
Image: Andrew Hindraker
The Guerrilla Girls are a group of masked feminists, who aim to 'expose sexism, racism and corruption in politics, art, film and pop culture' through humour, facts, and a tireless passion for activism. Their work has appeared globally, and often working with charities tackling the issues preventing equality. They have appeared on big talk shows, and have gained a huge fanbase since their original, challenging piece and movement was launched in 1984.

Triptych in pastel, Patricia Cain
After spending 4 years on the construction site of the Riverside Museum in Glasgow, designed by Zaha Hadid, Patricia Cain reveals her series of award-winning work depicting the space.
The building, which features an incredible, sculptural roof, has been recorded by Cain in pastels; showing the complex, striking building through an altogether softer medium.
Deptford X - Edwin Hind / Concrete and Green | 24 September - 3 October
Image: Deptford X Fringe Festival
Deptford, a small area of South East London which straddles Greenwich and Lewisham, is holding their annual Fringe Festival until the end of this week. The festival will take over the area, occupying shop windows, libraries, pubs and other public places.
This event sees Edwin Hind curate a 'visual image' which pulls together acoustic guitar, vocals, spoken word, and recordings of rural and urban spaces, all in an attempt to recreate the world in which we live and design.
Fit - Antony Gormley | 29 September - 6 November
'Big Gut', by Antony Gormley, photographed by Stephen White
Opening this week is 'Fit', a new collection of works by Antony Gormley. Best known for his recreations of the human form, including the Angel of the North, Gormley's work is as structural as it is subtly expressive. The White Cube will be opening its doors on Thursday night for a preview night, which promises to be as exciting as it is busy.
