At Home in Britain: Designing the House of Tomorrow | Opens May 18, recommended by Amelia Taylor-Hochberg
What better time to consider the future of housing typologies and cultures when London is in the midst of a housing crisis, “smart” technologies promise to revolutionize our domestic interactions, and the very notion of the family-unit is being rewritten? Taking the classic types of the flat, cottage and the terraced house as starting points, a selection of architects reinterpret these forms for tomorrow's homes. The free exhibition is coordinated with a three-part BBC4 series, looking at the history of the three housing types.
Instant City Reloaded – Southwark: Infiltration #2 | May 19, recommended by Nicholas Korody
Inspired by an Archigram project, “Instant City” is an initiative that seeks “to bring together disparate parts of society in art by means of provisional performance spaces.” “Dada on Tour,” a delegation of Zurich-based performers and artists, will infiltrate Underdog Art Gallery in Southwark with an inflatable tent. Should be hectic and fun! Just be sure to book your ticket in advance.
Clerkenwell Design Week 2016 | May 24-26, recommended by Ellen Hancock
Now in it's seventh year, as always Clerkenwell Design week has an exciting line up of events, showcasing the cities impressive design talent. With open showrooms, talks, debates, and installations be sure to check out the programme before hand. The Clerkenwell Design team have said “these projects aim to push the boundaries of design, in terms of concepts, process and material capabilities.”
Inside Out | Open now until May 28, recommended by Justine Testado

Over at the AA School of Architecture, “Inside Out” spotlights the photographic works of six artists who hail from the Baltic States and Russia. Through each artist's individual styles, the exhibition is a photographic exploration of architectural, open and interior space that also “reveals a range of artistic photographic practices in Eastern Europe from the 1970s to the present.” The exhibition is open now until May 28.
Ann Christopher RA: Drawing – The Lines of Time | Open now until May 29, recommended by Alexander Walter

"A line is something to hang on to, or something to follow," says abstract sculptor Ann Christopher. The Royal Academy of Arts dedicates the exhibition The Lines of Time to 26 of Christopher's recent drawings, exploring the power of visual expression of the passage of time and memory. Don't be tardy though – the exhibition is coming to an end soon on Sunday, May 29.
