: a film about sameness throughout the landscape (oddly enough, was shot in seven countries and 11 American states) by Jem Cohen of Brooklyn, NY. Cohen states that an experience of running into problems with homeland security agents while shooting, "has the effect of politicising this lyrical landscape footage." The dirge-like overture to Chain is a small masterpiece of controlled cacophony, provided by Canadian soundscapists Godspeed You! Black Emperor. I'm sold. Guardian

The issue of the "American Fear Factor" and these ideas of surveillance are intriguing (something I'm thinking of building my thesis around). As cameras become smaller and easier to carry around (hide), their use becomes more restrictive. Go figure.
