In over 140 years of making glass, [...] Corning Inc. has also established a reputation for commissioning first-rate works of architecture at its home base in this small city in the Finger Lakes region of New York. [...]
And now there’s a Contemporary Art + Design Wing by Thomas Phifer and Partners. Mr. Phifer is a New York architect whose intensely crafted minimalist sensibility comes as close as any American architect has to a Japanese aesthetic.

Think it’s hard to even comment on the article because you really can’t see the building, with hardly any published photographs. Think you need to get around this thing to understand it. Have a jaundice eye on building collages….think collecting works of architecture is fine, particularly museum organizations, but begin to squint when I see them jammed all together. I have paintings by good artists all through my house, but each is individually framed and placed separately. If I were to take this collection and sew them together and place them in a 15’X15’ frame something would get lost, maybe it all gets lost. Think in this case the employment of Hyphen's would have helped.
In any event I did find this photo that might help others, maybe too to explain my point of view.
Maybe this will help explain the problem....
Looks nice.
