Shoup is widely known as the “parking guru” whose ideas on parking policies have been implemented in cities around the world. Parking is a gigantic factor in determining how cities in the U.S. look and function, and no one knows that better than Donald Shoup. Any parking study worth its salt is indebted to Shoup's research.

“I can’t think of anyone who has made more scholarly contributions to the field of parking and transportation than Donald Shoup,” said Dean Frank Gilliam. “Don’s course on parking is wildly popular and receives terrific reviews from students. We are deeply appreciative and in awe of the impact he has made here at UCLA Luskin.”
THIS is the mark of a good teacher, someone who makes even what appears to be a boring topic interesting, engaging, and thus educational, challenging the way you look at the entire built world.
