Designers of Ikea and Entrepreneurs of Ikea: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?
You're close Leo.
They are two separate beings, not two identities of the same being.
IKEA stores are franchises.
Can we really expect any capitalist enterprise to value architecture? Businesses value one thing: their profit margin. All else gets swept aside. Laws are meant to protect the public from private interests in order to further the greater good; but I guess temporary low-wage jobs are considered the greater good in Red Hook. The reason NGO's like Architecture For Humanity exist is because businesses are not humanitarian entities and governments often fall short of their constituents' needs.
