So Heatherwick is specializing in spaces that appear public but actually aren't? A "bridge" and an "island"? Got it.
Snarky off the cuff comment aside, these two projects offer a good opportunity to remind everyone of the fuzziness of Privately Owned Public Spaces, and to link to DSGN AGNC's #whownspace project cataloging which spaces in Manhattan are actually publicly owned and not.
