• 8,000 Glowing Balloons Recreate the Berlin Wall: A 10 mile chain of balloons will line the path where the Wall previously stood, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its demolition.
• First Ever Chicago Architecture Biennial Taking Shape for 2015: The Biennial's theme of "The State of the Art of Architecture" (named after Stanley Tigerman's 1977 conference), is starting to take shape, and will include a photo exhibition on Chicago from Iwan Baan.

Thursday, November 6:

• Massive Hollywood project sits atop quake fault: The California Geological Survey confirmed that the Millenium Hollywood skyscraper sits on top of an active fault, despite the fact that the developer's consultants find no evidence of an active fault in their analysis of the data. LA's Department of Building and Safety will ultimately determine whether the Millenium can be built.
• Centre Pompidou To Open Design and Architecture Gallery: Upon the opening of its new photography gallery, the renowned Parisian museum for modern and contemporary art announced it would also be adding a design and architecture section.
• L.A. County supervisors approve initial funding for new LACMA building: The new design by Peter Zumthor calls for demolishing all current LACMA buildings, which despite a $600-million price tag would be savvier than spending the estimated $246 - $320M on needed seismic and utility upgrades.

Tuesday, November 4:

• Photo of the Week: Michael Rotondi and Thom Mayne: At the ceremony granting Rotondi with the Neutra Award, Jacklin Lee (a student at Cal Poly Pomona) snapped a photo of the two embracing one another.
• How the Lucas Museum Design Will Change Chicago's Lakefront - Rendering Reveals: MAD's initial renderings don't expose much, but the structure's sloping, mountainous shape has already been pinned as "weird".
• Developer wants to re-use and trademark the 5Pointz name for their new residential towers: The same developers that demolished the graffiti-mecca are also planning on reserving exterior walls and interior walkways for street art, to "bring the artists back".

Monday, November 3:

• Muji's prefab Vertical House now available for Japanese residences: The eminently contemporary and minimal aesthetic of Japanese design-brand Muji continues, with this 3-story pre-fab designed for Tokyo's narrow living spaces.
• One World Trade Center opens its doors; Condé Nast the first to move in: While still only about 60% rented, One World Trade Center's biggest tenant, Condé Nast, could help provoke an economic surge in the area, like it did to Times Square when it moved offices there in 1999.
