I want to check out how they're going to talk about and synthetize all the different scales of design that they have incorporated in the program. From architectural expression to urban problems and beyond. In an increasingly globalized world, I believe that working at every scale is the right, all-inclusive way to go.
I'm most excited to listen to Daniel Libeskind. As a young designer, I find it absolutely fascinating to hear the story of other designers, what has influenced them, and the turns in their path that has shaped them to become the designer they are today. As someone with a strong affection for the hand sketch, I look forward to gaining a better understanding of his process in drawing and how that simple practice impacts the final built environment. I'm also interested to hear about the value he places upon other project explorations in art and design and how those influence the built environment.
I'm excited about the conversations about the public realm and the role designers play in shaping the daily experiences of a diverse population, especially in light of the recent weather and human events in NYC.
