Sean John, the clothing label of media mogul Puff Daddy P. Diddy Diddy Sean John Combs, has apparently found a lot of inspiration in the work of Pentagram... specifically with the poster for Yale's School of Architecture by Pentagram's Michael Bierut and Marian Bantjes. via @pentagramdesign

Mark Gage must be psyched.
Hm, if you go to the actual Sean John site now you find a message "this item is being updated" - did they pull it (one hops)?
@Smokety - LOL!
Busted!
Great, just what we needed. Another reason for Mark Gage to be utterly full of himself.
Haters. Try to use that ivy education for something more than juvenile rants at a professor whose class you weren't good enough to get into.
Actually Michael, when both sevensixfive, and smokety were at Yale Mr Gage was an assistant to visiting critics and teching seminars, recently he's been teaching core studios. So technically anyone who went to Yale's SOA could be in his classes.
Just thought we'd clear that confusion up.
big deal so what? i see this stuff all the time worn by surfers and skateborders alike. it ain't cure for cancer man!!
They thought it's some poor student's design.... :D

Somebody should sue somebody here :)
What? How can you blame Puffy from thinking the one on the right says his name? They were probably inspired by him when they made this anyway... See S-E-D-U-C-T-I-O-N = PuffyDaddy. Yeah!
whatever... get over it... move on...
where can I buy one of those great t-shirts - size XL please, plus shipping to
Sydney!
Hah, just seeing this now. Michael, I was in Mark's studio, in 2006, when he was the assistant to Greg Lynn. Mark is a great teacher, a fantastic designer, and even someone I'd call a friend. I know Mark well enough, and so does Smokety, to guess that he'd be completely psyched to have the logo for the symposium he organized ripped off by Sean John.
So who are you, exactly?
wow I'm so late to this... I hope he does the right thing and offer him some royalities... cool design nonetheless in both cases
