In 1994 I was commissioned by Canderel Inc, a large Montreal developer, to build 3D models from the architects 2D plans of a 100 unit townhome project. The distinguishing feature of this development was the plan to build a series of arteries off a central boulevard, each artery - or placate en français - was designed around a central park/gardens/play area. In order to assist pre-sale marketing efforts, we decided not only to build one complete placette in 3D, but to then create an animated video fly-through from the Main Entry, into the placate, across the park, along the street and out. This was accomplished using a single 486 class PC with a whopping 1Gb RAM....the result was an award-winning 3 minute animated video.I planned, coordinated, managed the complete project single-handed (all 3D modelling, materials mapping & animation - using Accurender + AutoCAD) and then managed the transfer to video production with music/voice-over in both french and english.
