About

Pertinent : :

Since 01/01/11 have produced/written DesignBlog : : www.designplanonline.net

Initial work experience as an architectural apprentice (WZMH Architects-Toronto), evolving into an interior design professional.

A vast range of project type and credential from luxury residential (new build/renovation) to condominium design/development, retail design, corporate/commercial office design, aviation design (airports, departure lounges, ticket offices, reservations centres, corporate offices) - cruise ship design, hospitality design (Marriott Hotels).

Aside from the core credential as an interior designer, received certification as a Registered Graphic Designer in 1995. Broad experience in logo/identity design, way finding systems design, onboard ship graphics systems, etc.

Since 1987 have taught interior design at the college level on a part-time basis, with a specialty in AutoCAD, 3D modelling, SketchUp, and other courses. Currently professor at Algonquin College, Ottawa, Canada.

Recognized as a superb team builder and mentor, my executive design management positions required the ability to nurture/train design staff and meet all corporate targets for actualization of expectations, in alignment with corporate/departmental goals and strategies.

Have excellent ability as a design detailer - proven portfolio of creative problem-solving at the root level of design concepts/development along with the ability to always maintain balance between project goals and corporate strategies for project delivery - on-time and on-budget.

One ability for which I am recognized is as a proven creative problem-solver......best able to refine/define particular problems and articulate a logical and efficient solution path.
