"Redline is an arts center located in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. The adjacent property was being cleared for sale and Redline explored the idea of constructing a culinary arts center there with Marcus Farr’s studio class. The project was the first opportunity to work directly with a client and the resulting design tied for second place out of eleven entires. In its entirety, the project is built on three core principals. The first is program, with careful analysis into the layout generated room by room and its resulting circulation paths. The pro- gram is made up of art gallery, cafe, kitchen, classroom, private studio, and apartment spaces."
• Designed a 34,000ft2 building that incorporates art gallery, dining, business, and living spaces adjacent to the existing Arts Center.
• Incorporated the building footprint around the client’s primary concern for accessibility to parking and generated building plan from there.
• Investigated new systems and technologies to improve the energy efficiency and validity of the building design.
• Awarded second place by jury.
