The building is part of a series of facilities planned for the San José de Olón commune. In this case, the Health Center is situated on irregular terrain next to a mangrove that extends towards the river.

As a design strategy, the development of the program is proposed in two bars separated by a courtyard that respects the existing tree. Social and administrative areas are distributed on one side, and consultation and emergency areas on the other.

It is proposed to place the program on a single floor due to construction ease and accessibility. The structure is mixed, consisting of load-bearing brick walls and concrete columns supporting a wooden roof formed by trusses; the same trusses provide the necessary slope for rainwater drainage and ventilation.
