This is my first project, all designed and built by me. It is the refurbishment and conversion of an old grain warehouse into an apartment. 

The project is located in Pals, Girona. A small, medieval town in the heart of La Costa Brava. The apartment is in the first floor of a building in the center of the town, built in 1943.

The project began in 2011, it was a 150 square meters room with nothing on it, apart from the three structural arches that divided the space and gave to it a significance that I didn’t want to lose. 

The main idea was to keep the large empty space and only build a box at the rear end, which contains a bathroom and a bedroom. As there is a clearance of 4.5m to the highest point of the pitched ceiling, the top surface of this box is used as the main bedroom, opened towards the entire space. 

The very end of the space, next to this box, is the kitchen.  The rest of the space is free of partitions and are the furniture itselfs that generates different atmospheres.
