Designed to capture the sunrise and sunset and view of the Mokulua islands, this house was positioned on the hillside of Lanikai. The steeply sloping site allowed for a lower level guest area on the first floor, and a main entry at grade from the second level off of a landscaped entry area. Hawaii’s mild weather allowed for large open covered patios and windows promoting the ocean breezes to flow through. No air conditioning was needed. The natural feel of the home combined with the ocean tones used throughout the interior create an ocean escape high above Lanikai Beach, one of the top beaches in the world according to Travelers Magazine.
