Assistant Superintendent / Construction Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-driven Assistant Superintendent / Construction Manager to support our growing array of exciting projects in the field. This position will best be served by an investment in exceeding quality standards of the profession to meet both studio goals and client needs. It is required that a successful applicant be extremely reliable, communicative, focused, and committed to maintaining professional relationships throughout the entire project lifecycle. Regular and productive interfacing with clients, architects, designers, project managers, craftspeople, vendors, neighbors, visitors, and municipal personnel will be key to the role and its function. An absolute commitment to the safety of work environments, and ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with proper plans, specifications, and local building codes, is essential. The candidate must have design-know how, carpentry experience, and the ability to use power tools and work on job sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing constructability, proactive problem-solving 

  • Onsite quality control of all project facets

  • Partnering with studio team members to develop and manage detail-driven project schedules and estimates 

  • Maintaining all plans, specifications, and other necessary documentation as directed by the firm

  • Efficient management of subcontractors and all related elements (scheduling, evaluation of work performed, safety compliance, submittal reviews, shop drawings, RFIs, coordination of materials, deliveries, storage, and handling)

  • Keeping communication open and professional for all participants

  • Conducting daily walk-throughs, job logs, and sign-in documentation as required by the firm, to aid in our production of the best records and accountability possible on every project


  • At least 1-5 years of construction experience

  • Proven experience working through design details and constructability challenges directly with architects and designers, to achieve design intent

  • Degree in Architecture or Construction Management, or equivalent professional experience

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications

  • Good aptitude for technology and prior experience with database systems

  • Rough and finish carpentry skills at the journeyman-level, master preferred

  • Ease with communication and team-building 

  • Highly technical knowledge essential for building within a broad range of materials, methods, styles, and practices 

  • U.S. work authorization
