The multimedia artist studio for Doug Aitken is looking for a part or full-time designer based in Los Angeles to work on the development of new projects, taking conceptual proposals to fully realized artworks. 

Projects will vary from wall sculptures and installations to architectural structures and exhibition design.

Candidates need to produce drawing sets, create proposals, renderings, visualization and develop final designs. The ideal candidate will be an organized, intuitive problem solver with excellent communication skills, able to multi-task and manage time well in a fast-paced studio environment. Candidate should have strong instincts, good judgment, and a self-starter. This person must be detail oriented and possess a developed aesthetic sensibility.


  • Collaborate with artist to develop the artist’s designs from sketches to buildable artworks 
  • Produce 3D models and concept renderings 
  • Produce a clear drawing set
  • Ability to work quickly, creatively, and efficiently to produce high quality considered images
  • Attention to compositional detail
  • Be highly organized and a self-starter, able to multi-task and work within tight deadlines
  • 2-3 years related working experience with expertise in Rhino, VRay and Adobe Suite.
  • Knowledge of Cinema 4D, Maya or ZBrush is a plus
  • Knowledge of photography is a plus
  • Flexibililty for part-time work
  • Undergrad or Graduate architectural degree ideal
