Job Summary
Akin Co, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Draftsperson to join our team. The Draftsperson will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans using Revit (BIM software), based on specifications provided by our Project Architect and other identified team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building codes, construction standards, and industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed architectural drawings, particularly in the Design Development and Construction Documents phase, using Revit software;
• Work closely with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to incorporate their designs and specifications into technical drawings;
• Participate in project meetings to understand project requirements and provide technical input;
• Maintain accurate records of drawings and revisions;
• Prepare and update technical documentation and specifications;
• Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design standards and building codes;
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in drawings and plans;
• Provide support during the construction phase by addressing technical questions and issues that arise;
• Use BIM software proficiently to produce high-quality drawings and plans and;
• Stay updated with the latest Revit software versions and features.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field;
• Proficiency in Revit (BIM software), AutoCAD is a plus;
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Draftsperson in a design-build, architecture or construction environment preferred;
• Strong technical drawing and drafting skills;
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
• Good understanding of building codes, construction standards, and industry practices;
• Strong communication and teamwork skills and;
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
