Fast-growing boutique firm specializing in wellness and hospitality, seeking interior designers at all levels, both freelance and salaried. We have lots of exciting work on the horizon and are looking for hungry, innovative, talented designers to become integral parts of a stellar team. We are currently remote, but meet in person 1-2x per week depending on project needs, so NYC-based designers are preferred. Beyond that, you:

Overall, the job involves the ability to take large, complex projects from research and concept design through construction administration, installation, and project handover, maintaining a cohesive vision throughout each phase. While we tend to focus only on 1-3 projects at a time, applicants should be comfortable multi-tasking and should demonstrate a strong abilities in the following:

  • Sophisticated and innovative design sensibility
  • Design uniquely through the lens of a concept / story / guest experience, and not by trend
  • Comfort presenting ideas - both internally and externally
  • Excellent communicator
  • Maintenance of project directories (Keep all information within folders super organized)
  • Construction Documentation level drawing work, including highly articulate design detailing
  • Coordination with extensive consultant team inclusive of Purchasing Agents, MEP and Structural Engineers, Lighting Designers, Landscape Designers, et cetera
  • Researching materiality and building Architectural Schedules & Specifications
  • Logging and filing incoming RFIs, submittals, and other external correspondence & to track progress to completion/resolution
  • Design custom millwork and FF&E
  • Shop drawing review
  • See the big picture, i.e. bounce from the trenches of design detailing to the overall project needs easily and seamlessly in order to work efficiently

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years (Junior Designer) or 5 years (Intermediate Designer) of professional interior design / interior architecture experience
  • Experience in hospitality a must; retail, commercial, residential experience a plus
  • Knowledge of design and construction methods
  • Ability to produce technical documentation (DD, CD/IDD)
  • Ability to design and detail custom millwork, furniture and lighting
  • AutoCAD - Extensive knowledge, ability to create clean and organized drawing sets using company standards
  • Rhino3D or Sketchup - Ability to model 3D architecture models and furniture
  • Adobe InDesign - Ability to create client quality presentations for print and screen
  • Adobe Photoshop – Extensive knowledge
  • Project Management software – Excel / Word etc.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for employer sponsorship

  • Construction drawing samples from a CD set
  • Custom furniture, lighting or millwork drawing(s)
