Obra Architects is seeking an architect committed to professional quality able to take on key responsibilities within our growing practice. The candidate should be able to move fluently between design and construction phases and handle multiple projects of various size and complexity. Knowledge of construction an absolute requirement, please include specific experience in your submitted materials. Seeking an ambitious, self-directed individual to join our growing team, work closely with the firm's principals, and contribute significantly to the design work of the firm.

We are evolving and expanding our team and are seeking to develop and improve methods of optimizing teamwork and workflows with careful consideration of the total architectural project from conception thru to execution. Understanding of NYC code, international building code and construction standards and 3-5 years experience are expected. Basically: if you are working in a larger corporate atmosphere or less adventurous office, have experience with REVIT, and are seeking a challenging, exciting environment with huge growth potential, please apply.

Applicants should have the following requirements:

  • 5-year Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 8 years of proven experience in project management, detail and design development, construction documents, construction administration, site supervision
  • Familiarity with permit filing processes, code research, zoning analysis, and securing approvals from regulatory agencies
  • Skills in client communications, contract documentation, project scheduling, team leadership, technical detailing, consultant coordination, construction administration

Salary commensurate with experience, health insurance benefits package offered. NY licensure a plus.
