Senior Physical Designers at Local Projects demonstrate skill in both design ideation and execution, mentoring and advising physical designers throughout the design process. They work hands-on and independently during all phases of the projects. Our Physical Designers lead the design on aspects and components of multiple projects in collaboration with Creative Directors and Project Managers.

A: Contracted Projects


  • Attends (travel to) client meetings, present designs when relevant
  • Participates in design workshops, internal and/or with client stakeholders
  • Ideation sketches (hand and computerized)
  • Computer modeling in Rhino and other software as required
  • Sources reference images, creates mood boards for presentations
  • Defines with Creative Director the physical “attitude” for the exhibition


  • 3D sketches and renderings
  • Works with creative technology to ensure all technical requirements are documented
  • Works with the VXD and incorporate graphic elements in 3D documentation
  • Document design information in standard CAD packages for client and consultant use
  • Assemble written specifications
  • Attend weekly calls with client and consultants when applicable
  • Coordinate design with Architect and Technical Consultants (MEP)
  • Provide ROM implementation costs information
  • Assist with defining exhibition implementation schedule
  • Travels for Construction Administration and Installation phases
  • Construction Administration - Review of RFI’s, shop drawings & material submittals, conduct on-site observations and other construction documentation during the Construction Administration phase of work.

B: New Business Pitches

  • Periodically provides creative input in the form of sketches, renderings

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ideation and execution

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment


  • 3-7 years of professional design experience as a Designer, Interior Designer, Exhibit Designer, or related position.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel required
  • Must be able to work on-site in our NYC Studio
