WXY is an award-winning multi-disciplinary practice specializing in the realization of urban design, planning and architectural solutions in challenging contexts. Focused on innovative approaches to public space, structures and urban issues, the firm’s work engages both site-specific design and planning at multiple scales. The firm’s commissions are in collaboration with community-based, public authority, and private clients. WXY’s office is located in New York City. 

WXY is seeking an experienced Intermediate Architect with excellent design skills and 3+years professional post graduate experience currently residing in NYC. The position will require a strong working knowledge of Revit and all applicants should have documented at least one project using Revit. Applicants not fitting this criteria will not be considered. 

The position will require the ability to take on aspects of a project independently and balance production tasks with coordination responsibilities. This position is an integral part of the WXY’s design process and requires close collaboration with the entire design team, office principals, consultants and clients. Construction documentation experience and Revit skills are essential.

Responsibilities: 

  • To support design with high quality graphic communication, drawings and 3D visualization 

  • To support design development, construction drawings and construction administration 

  • To maintain an organized content workflow throughout production consistent with office procedures and standards 

  • To report directly to project leads and office Principals 

 

 

Required Skills: 

  • 3+ years of post graduate experience 

  • Strong design and representational skills 

  • Good understating of building systems and NYC building code 

  • Knowledge of design and documentation for ADA 

  • Strong awareness of contemporary design culture and technological innovations 

  • Critical software requirements include: Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Office suite  

  • Software awareness requirements include: Rhino, Maxwell, Dynamo, Autocad 

  • A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and a commitment to excellence 

  • Great interpersonal communication skills 

  • Web-design and web-content management skills are an asset 

 

Experience & Qualifications: 

  • Able to work in the USA and begin work immediately 

  • Fluent in English (excellent written and verbal skills) 

  • Professional degree in architecture 

  • 3+ years professional post graduate experience in an architectural office 

  • Construction documentation and Revit experience is critical 

  • Experience as Revit lead or high level of competency creating families, managing templates and overall workflow is an asset 

  • Experience coordinating consultant BIM models through all phases on an architectural project 

  • Construction drawing set management, consistency in office and drafting standards, and ability to convert Design Intent into Construction Documents.
