Spanning twenty years, we’ve established a reputation for design excellence in projects ranging from bespoke private commissions to mission-driven and innovation-minded affordable housing, to public and socially conscious work for public agencies and not-for-profit organizations. AiF is seeking a self-motivated and results-driven Business Development | Marketing | PR Manager. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the firm Principal to develop and execute a strategic business development plan to increase our market share, secure larger projects within our core project types, increase exposure, and expand the areas we serve. This position is a key part of our ongoing growth trajectory and a unique opportunity for the right person to advance with the company.

 Key Responsibilities:

Planning / Strategy:

  • Strategic Planning: Work with Principal and management to develop and execute a comprehensive business development and communication strategy aligned with AiF's growth objectives.
  • Works directly with the Principal to set goals and priorities for pursuit.
  • Market Analysis: Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential clients to expand AiF's reach and influence.
  • Leverage Principals’ connections in affordable housing, luxury real estate, and various markets.

Business Development:

  • Establish strategies and initiative-taking efforts in finding and pursuing business opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Project Acquisition: Support efforts to secure new projects, from bespoke residential designs to large-scale affordable housing developments and commercial installations.
  • Proposal Development: Support the preparation and submission of proposals and bids for new projects.
  • Assists Partners and Project Leaders: Provides support in the creation of proposals and the negotiation of contracts and fees.
  • Develop and maintain CRM. Assist in lead research.
  • Develop and maintain sales pipeline.
  • Monitor and report on business development activities, sales performance, and revenue growth.

RFP/RFQ Response:

  • RFP/RFQ Response: Monitor Requests for Proposals from various sources, and identify those with a potential fit.
  • Create strategic, project-specific writing to support the broader team's response to RFPs/RFQs.
  • Under the Partners’ direction, initiates and manages the development, production, and quality control of RFQ and RFP packages, team assembly, fee proposals, and presentation materials.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the design and project management teams to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with RFP requirements and goals.

Marketing, Communications, and PR:

  • Manage communications across all platforms including website, newsletter, and social media.
  • Organize and manage project assets (photos, drawings, renderings, miscellaneous materials).
  • Work with the team to develop portfolios needed for strategic BD presentations and communication.
  • Identify good opportunities for firm and project awards. Manage award submissions.
  • Engage the press and media to promote the publication of AiF's Work, including press releases, media outreach, social media campaigns, and content creation.

 Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of business development experience, preferably within the architecture, design, or construction industries.
  • Proven history of achieving and exceeding sales targets and securing high-value projects.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in business development or sales are advantageous.

Skills:

  • Exceptional research, writing, editorial, and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on digital content creation and distribution.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in market research and data analysis.
  • Experience with CRM software and other business development tools.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Fluency with Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel throughout NYC, Hamptons, and Catskills areas as needed for client meetings and events.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation will be provided as a salary, with rates commensurate with experience.

This is a full-time, hybrid remote/in-studio position at our NYC office near City Hall.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience ranging from $65k-$80k. AiF offers a benefits package that includes paid vacation, medical, and a 401k plan.
