Neal Beckstedt Studio, a 10-person boutique architectural and interior design firm based in Manhattan, seeks a skilled intermediate architectural designer to join its expanding team. Founded by Neal Beckstedt in 2010, the studio is a full-service design team seamlessly integrating exterior and interior into modern, casual environments full of warm and ease.
The studio offers services in architectural, interior, landscape, and furniture design with an approach to creating unique spaces tailored to our clients.
We are seeking creative and self-motivated individuals who are interested in working in a collaborative team environment on the full spectrum of project typologies – from ground-up construction to interior renovations to custom furniture.
Responsibilities:
Works alongside Principal and Project Manager to prepare architectural drawings, renderings, presentations, and construction documents.
Works alongside Project Manager for review of work to ensure accuracy, quality, and design conformance.
Manages time and tasks to ensure project deliverables are met and communicates with Project Manager periodically.
Coordinates with consultants and vendors.
Prepares specifications and schedules.
Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline.
3 to 6 years of architectural-related experience, with a focus on high-end residential.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, 3D modeling (Rhino or SketchUp), and rendering.
Must have strong design and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively within a team, as well as the ability to self-manage to meet project goals and deliverables.
Ability to achieve tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and communication skills – visually, orally, and in writing.
