A major NYC healthcare organization approached JLGA to design the complete renovation of over 4,500 SF of outdated and inefficiently allocated research laboratory space. JLGA’s laboratory design specialists delivered a completely transformed and updated space, creating a new core facility that consolidates departments whose members had previously been scattered throughout the medical center. In particular, the specialized CBRD/ExPath/IH Core Laboratory Facility consolidates and serves the specific research needs of three key departments:
New program spaces designed by JLGA include wet labs, procedure rooms, equipment rooms, and administrative spaces and offices. The design team incorporated modular and mobile laboratory casework for cost efficiency and to offer future flexibility to accommodate the future evolution of the departments and their work.
