JLGA took 7,700 SF of space in a medical office building in Lake Success, NY to create a light-filled Cardiology practice for two newly combined practices. The facility includes examination rooms, stress/echo-cardiograph rooms, a nuclear medicine suite, staff offices, reception, and support spaces.
We designed a separate space to accommodate a diagnostic nuclear camera, which required lead-lined walls, a dedicated humidifier to keep the humid at specific levels, and a control station behind a glass viewing wall.
New lighting color, materials, and textures enliven the visitors’ experience. The entrance waiting area features glass walls which face out to the day-lit building atrium, working together with exterior-facing windows to bring in as much natural light as possible.
The examination rooms have been located along the building exterior perimeter, with windows connecting a sense of the outdoors into the main interior corridor.
Colors and fabrics were expressly selected to differentiate clinical areas from diagnostic and administrative areas as a way of guiding patients through the facility during their visit.
