Project is located in the East Flatbush neighborhood where senior housing is a critical need for the aging residents of the community. The development includes 90 units of senior housing and a social services space for the benefit and services of the senior residents. A community center is planned alongside the housing development for a medical use/ adult day care center that will be managed and operated by Evangelical church. We worked with the development team and the church to develop a solution that provides maximum number of senior units and integrate the community facility and social services spaces in a welcoming and effective way. The project integrates with the neighborhood and provides an attractive streetscape. Enterprise Community standards, we implemented the highest building envelope standard, use of renewable energy and re-use of rain water systems. Sustainable materials specified include locally harvested and manufactured, low impact finishes and furnishings. LED lighting is used throughout to reduce energy consumption which is controlled by motion sensors and lighting controls.
