Located in a 1950s post-war apartment complex, we collaborated closely with the owners and designer to create a warm, approachable mid-century modern space, complete with bleached oak cabinets, walnut-hued wood floors, and chemetal countertops along the window built-in millwork. The living areas were opened up for better flow around a magnificent central console that backs up to the kitchen. A dropped cove around the perimeter walls unifies and lights the ceiling plane while providing display lighting for the owner’s own photography collection.
