Roland Garros Tennis Stadium

This project highlights the construction of a new tennis stadium with 5000 seats for the Rolang Garros area in  the Auteuil botanical gardens in Paris.

In order to integrate the building  in  its surrounding landscape, the concept was to create a semi-sunken stadium bordered by 4 large greenhouses that reinterpret a contemporary version of the historical ones present in the Auteuil gardens .

Thus, a stainless steel frame facade has been developed including glass scales and a system of mullion and transom connected to the steel structure.  The purpose here was to design the envelope as transparent as possible with the most compact profiles. An internal roller blind device has been integrated under the steel purlins to avoid overheating in summer and allow passive solar gain in winter, while taking advantage of natural light.
