Park + Elton

Park and Elton, a development with 38 residential units spanning two 5-story buildings, was designed by GF55 Architects to tuck neatly into the Melrose neighborhood yet simultaneously and subtly push a modern architectural language. The buildings correspond to the Melrose Commons Urban Renewal Plan, providing a range of housing choices to support diversity and maintain the human-scale public realm with their subtle volume and height.  The simple modern cornice and the differentiation of the window header detail with the application of the soldier brick pattern reference the historical brick clad buildings found throughout the district. Construction of the buildings included sustainable design elements and incorporated NYC Green Building Standards.
