looking for literature on the design of libraries

xray

ideal books would address a wide range of topics - from urban setting to programming, and would include case studies.
if anyone knows of a primer in this field (such as a "bible of bilbiotheques"), the recommendation would be greatly appreciated!

you are never really going to find one end all book on any program.

I suggest the actar book on the seattle public library

and also check out Wiel Aret's library in utrecht i believe its a university library. there is a book on it called: living library i think? its red i cant remember the title as i do not have it in front of me but the book sets up nicely a few case studies the office did. also check out ito's mediatheque(sp?)

a touch ironic that a search for a book about library design occurs on the interwebs.
